- !NOTES:I don't know if I'm related to this family or not but I am interested in them.
I've researched all Wilsons in the region to some extent in the attempt to discover the family of my ancestor Mrs. David Carpenter. She is a presumed Miss Wilson born ca 1810/15 in Burke Co., NC, died ca 1839 in Yancey Co., NC or in Ashe (now Watauga) Co., NC. My area of interest mainly includes Burke, Yancey, Mitchell, Avery and Watauga Counties, and some of their parent counties such as Buncombe and Ashe.
I am not yet 100% certain Mrs. David Carpenter was a Wilson, but they did name their second son "Wilson Carpenter" so that strongly suggests Wilson ancestry. They were associated with Wilsons as well;

* Not in Burke;
!CENSUS:1800 Burke Co., NC (3):
Joseph Wilson 804 30010-01010-0-0
Joseph Wilson 805 10010-01020-0-0 <--- this one
Joseph Wilson 806 40010-11010-0-0
My analysis (who each person *might* be):
1m 26-44 (1755/1774) Joseph Wilson (1755/1774)
2m 0-9 (1790/1800).. 1. Son? (1790/1800)
.................... 2. Son? (1790/1800)
2f 26-44 (1755/1774) 1. Wife? (1755/1774)
.................... 2. Sister? (1755/1774)
1f 10-15 (1784/1790) Daughter? (1794/1790)
* There were three Joseph Wilsons in 1800 Burke, all 26-44 (1755/1774). Only one in Burke 1810 who doesn’t seem to be any of those from 1800.
* One Joseph Wilson died in 1810, widow Mary. There is a Mary Wilson on 1810 census but too young (1784/94) to be wife of this Joseph unless she’s a 2nd wife and not same wife from 1800 census.;
!CENSUS:1810 x
Burke (2):
Joseph Willson 327 40010-10200-0-0 Not a good match with 1800 entry (805).
Mary Willson 328 32000-31100-0-0 Might be widow of Joseph Wilson died 1810. If so, she's a 2nd wife.
