- !NOTES:There seem to be three contemporary Peter Strouds of the same generation in old Burke. It gets quite confusing.

1. Peter G. Stroud (1807-1872) son of Peter Jr?

1. Peter G. Stroud was in Macon Co., NC by 1835 and in Rabun Co., GA by 1836 and does not appear on the 1840 census, but was probably still in GA. He is on the 1850 census in Union Co., GA. I've found no original records showing him with a middle name or initial, yet I have "Grayson" as his middle name. what source?
2. Peter E. Stroud (c1808 per 1850 census or ca 1813 per 1860 census). He was in Burke in 1835, 1840 and 1850. Records prove he is a son of William Sr.
3. Peter Stroud was born ca 1800/10 per the 1830 census entry (Burke). He was unmarried then. He was on the 1835 voter list in Burke. No further record of him.
Peter G. Stroud was closely associated with the children of James A. Stroud (1800/10) who married Deborah England, strongly suggesting they were brothers, and other records strongly suggest both are sons of Peter Jr. This Peter *seems* to still be home with Peter Jr. in 1830.
One of the Peter Strouds was in Tennessee in 1832 with his "uncle" David Stroud as proven by court records, but the same records show he returned to Burke Co., NC right after.;
