  !NOTES:Based on the 1850 census entry, I first assumed that Joseph B. Sams was the husband of Mary Ann Sams and that Sarah 8/12 was their daughter. This might be accurate, but it's also possible they were siblings instead, which would mean Joseph is a child of Nehemiah same as Mary Ann. I don't know who Sarah 8/12 is in that case, perhaps Joseph's child by a wife who died in childbirth? Mary Ann married Nathaniel Penny in 1855. Joseph B.
