- !NOTES:I don't know if I'm related to this family or not but I am interested in them.
I've researched all Wilsons in the region to some extent in the attempt to discover the family of my ancestor Mrs. David Carpenter. She is a presumed Miss Wilson born ca 1810/15 in Burke Co., NC, died ca 1839 in Yancey Co., NC or in Ashe (now Watauga) Co., NC. My area of interest mainly includes Burke, Yancey, Mitchell, Avery and Watauga Counties, and some of their parent counties such as Buncombe and Ashe.
I am not yet 100% certain Mrs. David Carpenter was a Wilson, but they did name their second son "Wilson Carpenter" so that strongly suggests Wilson ancestry. They were associated with Wilsons as well;

!NOTES:Due to her young age (born ca 1784/94 per 1810 census), Mary has to be Joseph's 2nd wife;

My analysis (who each person *might* be):
2m 10-15 (1794/1800) 1. Son? (1794/1800)
.................... 2. Son? (1794/1800)
3m 0-9 (1800/1810).. 1. Son? (1800/1810)
.................... 2. Son? (1800/1810)
.................... 3. Son? (1800/1810)
1f 16-25 (1784/1794) Mary (—) Wilson widow of Joseph (must be his 2nd wife)
1f 10-15 (1794/1800) Daughter? (1794/1800)
3f 0-9 (1800/1810).. 1. Daughter? (1800/1810)
.................... 2. Daughter? (1800/1810)
.................... 3. Daughter? (1800/1810)
* There is a Mary, widow of Joseph Wilson who died 1810. This could be her.
* This census entry is a decent match with 1800 Joseph in Burke (806), though Mary herself is too young to be that same wife from 1800. She could be a 2nd wife if this is Joseph’s widow Mary.
