      !NOTES:It was generally assumed that "Anky" was a nickname, and that her actual name was "Agnes" however, to date I've only found records for her listed as Anky or Ankey. "Ankey" is not a normal nickname for women named Agnes, but in Dutch traditions, it's used as a nickname for Anna or similar names.


      !NOTES:I am a FamilyFinder DNA match with Mary Jane Erwin and her brother Ernest. They are descendants of Agnes Hensley Godsey. We found no other common ancestors.
      - We are 5th cousins, 3x removed if Agnes Hensley Godsey is a daughter of William Hensley (father of my Larkin), but her parentage isn't proven. However, it is obvious that Agnes and Larkin are closely related, eithier siblings or 1st cousins at least;

      !PENSION:23 Jan 1838 Revolutionary Pension Application of Ankey GODSEY, widow of William GODSEY, Ankey GODSEY, resident of Sullivan Co TN aged 75 years declares she is widow of Wm GODSEY wao was a private under Cpt. CAVILS (CABELL) of 6th VA Regt. Wm was at Battle of Guilford and the capture of CORNWALLIS and she was married to Wm 14 Jan 1779. That Wm GODSEY died 12 Feb 1831. Scott Co, VA, Nancy HENSLEY appeared before Zachariah HENSLEY a justice of the peace and said she heard her late husband Fielding HENSLEY decd speak of his service in the Revolution and of being at the taking of CORNWALLIS and thinks she heard him say that Wm GODSEY was also at the taking of CORNWALLIS but knows for sure that GODSEY was in Revolution. Nancy was raised in Buckingham Co VA from which county GODSEY went into service and that 10 or 15 years ago GODSEY called on her late husband to prove his services for a pension and that her husband did prove his services.Nancy signed with mark. 3 Mar 1838. Clay Co KY. Milly CORNETT, a resident of Clay Co KY swore that she saw sister, Anky HENSLY married to William GODSEY in Buckingham Co VA in 1779. Signed with mark. 11 Jan 1838..;
