His actual name appears to be Osborne, though he most often used Auza on records.
His actual name and nickname can be spelled numerous ways:
- Osborne, Osborn, Ausborn, Ausburn, etc.
- Auza, Ousza, Ozen, etc., and often misread as Anza on transcribed records.
!NOTES:I suspect that Lewis JENKINS & Sarah BEASLEY are the parents of Osborne, but I have no solid proof. The 1810 and 1820 census show they had a son Osborne's age. Osborne named children Lewis and Sarah, so all of that fits, but isn't 100% convincing. If Lewis isn't his father, then the next best option is Lewis's likely brother John Jenkins.
