!NOTES:This person is a place-holder used to connect several related people together, though their exact relationship to each other is unknown. Being listed as a child of this person makes them appear to be siblings, but it is not certain if that is the case or not. In fact some probably can't be siblings due to having the same names, or huge differences in age. However, like I stated, this is only to link them together as an extended family unit, until their precise relationships can be determined.
All of the Blackman/Blackmon families of Marion Co., SC and area seem to be of the same extended family, they lived near each other and were associated. Unfortunately no early records have been found that prove their exact relationships. Therefore I'm using this place-holder person to tie them together.
This generation probably lived in Granville Co., NC in the early 1700's, perhaps coming there from somewhere in south-side Virginia. It is doubtful if this generation ever moved to South Carolina, but not impossible.
Bert Blackmon and Charles Blackmon have done some research in Granville Co., NC and found some early Blackmans there including a Solomon and John who could easily be Tory John and Solomon Sr of Marion Co., SC. Others from Granville seem to be the projenitors of the Lancaster Co., SC Blackman families. The father of John and Solomon is not yet known, it also isn't known if John and Solomon are brothers.;
