!OBITUARY:
Ervin E. Mangus, 94, of Brimfield, IL, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at his home.
Ervin was born June 30, 1932, in Brush, CO, to Gerald and Florence (Smith) Mangus. Ervin married June Starkey on October 19, 1951, in LaCenter, WA. She survives.
Ervin is also survived by four children, Jeffrey (Tasha) Mangus of Olympia, WA, Janette (the late Larry) Brant of Peoria, Karla (Marvin) Grant of Kinston, NC, and Nathan Mangus of Gillette, WY; one sister, Mary Lou Pettit; fifteen grandchildren; and eighteen
great-grandchildren.
Ervin is preceded in death by his parents; two children, Linda (Robert) Bomhold and Sharon Mangus; two brothers, Dean Mangus and Larry Mangus; and two sisters, Floretta White and Carole Mangus.
Ervin graduated as Salutatorian from LaCenter High School in LaCenter, WA. He then went to Clark College and Washington State University where he received his Mechanical Engineering degree. Upon completion, he then worked at Pratt & Whitney for two and half years, Boeing for 10 years, and retired from Caterpillar after 22 years.
Ervin was a member of the Caterpillar Retiree Golf League, H.O.G., and a lifetime member of the N.R.A. He also was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elma, WA, and a founding member of the Baptist Church of Brimfield.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Baptist Church of Brimfield.
